ATHENS - Recruiting season is here and the Georgia Bulldogs are all over the country checking in on major targets in the 2027 class.
Here’s where some of the staff went earlier this week...
On Tuesday Bulldog defensive line coach Tray Scott checked on elite DL target Marcus Fakatou out in California. Ranked as the No. 2 DL prospect in the country, the big 6-foot-7275-pounder out of Sierra Canyon (CA), Fakatou is very familiar with Georgia and was in Athens for an unofficial visit in late March.
“I know they are a powerhouse in college football and they develop good players who carry on to the NFL. I’m all about development and looking for a college that can do just that.”
Scott has been on a mission here, constantly checking on the dominant lineman and getting out to California anytime he gets the chance. It won’t be easy to beat out the likes of USC and Notre Dame, but Scott is swinging for the fences here after making another trip out West this spring.
At Orange Lutheran last season, he made 69 tackles, 17 TFLs and seven sacks and two forced fumbles. He’s currently ranked as the No. 27 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 class.

According to FanDuel, the Atlanta Braves have -380 odds to win the National League East this fall.
Another target who got a visit from the Georgia staff this week is four-star QB Peter Bourque. Bourque will be committing on Thursday between Georgia, Penn State and Virginia Tech. Sources are telling Dawg Post this recruitment is coming down to the wire, so it’s easy to see why Bobo was in Massachusetts making his final pitch. The Bulldogs can’t offer the early playing time that the others could, and they won’t be offering the largest NIL package either, but they’re still firmly in the mix for the No. 7 QB prospect in the country. As a junior last season, leading his team to a state championship, Borque was 131/207 (63.5%) for 2,241 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 80 times for 688 yards.
Bulldog defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann was also visiting a top prospect this week in four-star Noah Glover. The 6-foot-2 205-pounder from Virginia is high on Schumman’s board and took a big Jr. Day visit to Athens in late January.
“Coach Smart and his staff are special because they coach hard and bring out your best”, Glover told Dawg Post. “UGA is special in my eyes because, man, everything. They’ve got it all.”
Now, Glover has locked in his official visit for the weekend of June 5th. In nine games last season, the No.3 ranked prospect in Virginia made 73 tackles, five sacks, two pass-breakups, two rushing touchdowns, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Glover is ranked as the No. 18 LB prospect and the No. 208 overall prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
