ATHENS - Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs are sitting pretty at the quarterback position.

Gunner Stockton is back, Ryan Puglisi remains on board, and there are several promising passers who are hoping to climb the depth chart this fall.

After the whole Jared Curtis debacle, the Dawgs were able to land freshman quarterback Bryson Beaver out of the transfer portal from the 2026 class. Now, the Bulldogs continue to look for their guy in the current 2027 cycle.

One target, four-star Peter Bourque‍, will make his college decision next Thursday, May 14th. Sources say the former Michigan commitment from Tabor Academy (MA) is likely choosing between Georgia, Penn State and Virginia Tech. The big 6-foot-4 220-pounder has been to Athens several times and sources behind the scenes have always told Dawg Post that Bourque and his camp really like the program.

Leading his team to a state championship last season, Bourque was 131/207 (63.5%) for 2,241 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 80 times for 688 yards. He’s currently ranked as the No. 7 QB prospect and the No. 82 overall prospect in the country.

Borque was in Athens this spring and spoke with Dawg Post after his visit in early March.

“Great visit to UGA. It is place that ties in everything athletes should look for in a program. Win and compete at the highest level, development, culture and a great staff with stability. UGA is also a top tier academic school which is very important to me.”

DON’T FORGET YOUR FANDUEL BETS!!

According to FanDuel, the LA Rams have +390 odds of winning the NFC Championship next year.

However, one new 2027 offer was extended by Mike Bobo this week, indicating that they may not feel great about their position with Bourque. That offer went out to Milton (GA) gunslinger and Tennessee commitment Derrick Baker‍. Baker has always been on Georgia’s radar, but an offer from the Bulldogs finally came this week.

The 6-foot-1 230-pounder has been committed to the Vols since early February. As a junior last season, Baker suffered an injury early in the season that ended his year, but looks great right now for the Eagles in spring practice. The dual-threat quarterback is one to keep an eye on if an official visit is scheduled soon. He’s currently ranked as the No. 38 QB prospect in the country for the 2027 class.
